Seminar Series: A Novel Approach for Production Planning and Productivity Improvements in Dynamic Production Systems using Discrete Event Simulation and Heuristic Methods.

WHEN: 03 Aug

WHERE: Zoom

Join us for an informative public seminar with Ruba Al-zqebah, an Associate PhD researcher at the Australian Cobotics Centre. In this session, Ruba will explore production planning and productivity improvements in dynamic production systems, using discrete event simulation and heuristic methods.

Manufacturing is facing increased competitiveness due to global pressures, and the Industry 4.0 revolution has brought valuable tools like simulation to enhance manufacturing systems. Discrete Event Simulation (DES) is widely used in the manufacturing sector to digitally test system changes before their implementation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Ruba’s research investigates the integration of DES with existing theoretical methods in High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) and Low-Mix High-Volume (LMHV) manufacturing enterprises. By comparing the performance of the integrated approach to individual methods, we can uncover valuable insights for boosting productivity.

This seminar is an excellent opportunity for industry professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in the future of manufacturing to learn more about these innovative techniques.
