Collaborative Robots: the benefits, limitations and potential for Australian Manufacturers

WHEN: 08 Jun

WHERE: Zoom

Collaborative robots, or cobots, are becoming increasingly popular in manufacturing due to their ability to work alongside humans safely and efficiently. This webinar will provide attendees with an understanding of the benefits and limitations of collaborative robots, with insights into potential future capabilities of cobots as research and development in this area progresses.

Our Swinburne University of Technology researchers, Associate Professor Mats Isaksson, Dr Michelle Dunn and Associate Professor Chris McCarthy, present:

  • The differences between industrial robots and cobots and details about costs, payload and reach of cobots
  • Examples of successful cobot integrations in different sectors and highlight what we can learn and apply from these in manufacturing
  • Projects from within the Centre, and through our Industry Partner, ARM Hub that illustrate the kind of projects the Centre can deliver as well as the research problems that our Centre is focused on solving
