Dr Mats Isaksson is a roboticist focused on industrial robotics. After his MSc at Lund University, Sweden, he worked for ten years in the Motion Control department at ABB Robotics in Sweden. After relocating to Australia, he completed at PhD in robotics at Deakin University in Geelong. Since then, he has worked for three years at the Centre For Intelligent Systems Research at Deaking University, Geelong and one year at Colorado State University.
His expertise is in control of flexible manipulators, robotics force control and parallel kinematics. He has long experience of developing novel robot functionality in close collaboration with industrial partners. His academic research is mainly focused on derivation of novel mechanisms and screw theory based analysis of parallel manipulators.
