Integrating Vision-Guided Cobots into Steel Manufacturing
In this article, Postdoctoral Research Fellow Sheila Sutjipto, from University of Technology Sydney examines how vision-guided collaborative robotics can enhance automation in steel manufacturing.
As part of the Australian Cobotics Centre’s Biomimic Cobots Program, researchers from UTS and QUT partnered with InfraBuild to develop an AI-powered “shorts” detection system integrated with a collaborative robot (cobot). This system improves quality control by identifying defective short-length steel bars in real time and seamlessly integrating into existing workflows.
