What actually makes Human–Robot Collaboration work?

We often picture a worker and a robot side by side, but, as Jasper Vermeulen, PhD researcher in the Designing Socio-Technical Robotic Systems program, argues, that’s only part of the story.

Successful collaboration is powered by a wider team (engineers, technicians, supervisors and more) who configure, support and adapt these systems over time.

The key shift: Human–Robot Collaboration is also Human–Human Collaboration around robots. As cobots scale, we need to design for teams, and invest in the people behind the technology.
