Dong An is a PhD candidate at Queensland University of Technology. He graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with an interdisciplinary background in Interaction Design and Mechanical Automation. His master’s project was a mobile game played by 20,000 people, and he also participated in the compilation of the best-selling book, The Birth of an APP 2.0. Beyond his academic pursuits, Dong An is also a social media content creator dedicated to popularising design knowledge.

His current research project focuses on integrating tangible interaction and XR technologies to support human-robot collaboration. This project collaborates with Freelance Robotics in Brisbane, introducing emerging technologies from real-world cobot usage experiences to solve practical problems. While his experience is broad, it is consistently rooted in interaction design.
